pretty painted containers::wwyd?

I thrifted this vintage set a little while ago and just loved the painted flowers on them. They are not in the best condition but I could not pass up their 70's prettiness and I am now conflicted on what to do with them...refinish, complete restyle or leave as is?

They don't really fit very well anywhere in my kitchen and Jason did not seem so keen on the design so they are now in the sewing room...maybe they should be storage for crafty supplies? Or find a unique use in one of the boys rooms? Maybe vintage fruit and veggie planters this spring?

What would you do? h&k, Mandi

  7. Refinishing will take away from their vintage awesomeness which is the very stuff that attracted you to them.

    My .02 cents? Don't be shy about lovin' things groovy.

    I'd leave them as they are and use them for sewing notion storage.

    Look at that fine dove-tailing construction! What a great find.

    Enjoy.

    if you aren't going to use them in the kitchen- i'm loving the planter idea! or the storage idea! either are fantastic.

  9. I agree, don't change them! They look so good the way they are! I can imagine them full of buttons and ribbons and spools of thread..I'd say use them in the craft room or for planters. that's a neat idea too :)
